Linda Schmitt, 69, formerly of Hillsboro

Linda Schmitt, 69, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Hillsboro, died Dec. 10, 2021. Mrs. Schmitt was a 1970 Hillsboro High School graduate. She enjoyed collecting antiques and tending to her flowers. Born June 19, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Agnes (Basler) Moser in Hillsboro.

She is survived by her husband: Thomas Schmitt of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two daughters: Angela (Jay) Jackson of Abingdon, Md., Tiffany (Chad) Nation of Council Bluffs; a son: Matthew (Tiffany) Schmitt of Council Bluffs; four sisters: Diane (Jerry) Stoverink, Denise (Don) LaRue, Joan (Clem) Radin, Janet (John) Althauser; three brothers: Steven (Karen) Moser, Doug (Pam) Moser and Francis Moser; and nine grandchildren: Kassi, Zack, Isaac, Theo and Charlie Jackson, Mackenzie (Gabe) Mabry, Thomas and Madeline Schmitt, and Ray Nation.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday (Jan. 7), with a Rosary recitation at 7 p.m., at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 8) at St. Peter’s Church in Council Bluffs. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 15) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City.
