Lilburn E. “Man with the Suckers” Huskey, 89, of De Soto died June 13, 2018, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Huskey was retired from the parts department of the General Motors Assembly plant. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War and he was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in De Soto. Born March 5, 1929, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Virdie “Marie” (Patterson) Huskey.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Lou (O’Shea) Huskey of De Soto; one daughter: Linda (Rick) Britton of De Soto; four siblings: Genevieve (Ollie) Shoults of Hematite, Nellie (Herbert) Caldwell of Festus, Alice (John) Robertson of Casper, Wyo., and James (Pam) Huskey of Billings, Mont.; one brother-in-law: Floyd Thebeau of De Soto; and one granddaughter: Kindra (Michael) Britton-Statler of De Soto.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Juanita (Homer) Thebeau and Hazel Thebeau; and one brother: Donald Huskey.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
