Lawrence J. Szolga Sr., 82, of the Jefferson County part of Fenton died April 9, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County.
“Big Larry” was a retired cab driver who loved to fish. Born Dec. 13, 1931, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Irene Szolga.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Pam (Saggio) Szolga, Fenton; four stepchildren: Steve (Karen) Stratmann, St. Louis; Tony (Dawn) Stratmann, High Ridge; Tracy Marton, St. Peters; and Kevin Stratmann, Fenton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother: Eugene (Beverly) Szolga, Fairview Heights, Ill.; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nephews.
A private lakeside memorial will be held later.
