LaVerne B. (West) Hoskins, 88, of Hillsboro died Dec. 21, 2022. Mrs. Hoskins was a seamstress and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Hillsboro. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and collecting dolls. She was born Aug. 31,1934, in Maplewood, the daughter of the Late Fred B. and Blanche (Hendrikson) West. She was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Hoskins Sr., whom she married Nov. 14, 1953, in Hillsboro.
She is survived by four children: Raymond Hoskins Jr., Sherie Hoskins, Fred (Cathy) Hoskins and Jeff (Mari) Hoskins; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Deirdre Ernst.
A funeral service was held Dec. 29 at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial was in the Glade Chapel Cemetery in Hillsboro. Arrangements were under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
