Larry James DeGeare, 59, of Festus died Nov. 30, 2017, in Festus. Mr. DeGeare graduated from Crystal City High School and served in the U.S. Air Force before working as a construction laborer and concrete layer. He loved gardening and his grass was the envy of all his neighbors. He was a devoted husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. Born Oct. 27, 1958, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Ada (Mund) Mae and Benjamin James DeGeare Jr.
He is survived by his wife: Robin Lynn (Hankins) DeGeare; a stepson: Andrew (Christina) Seitz of Imperial; a grandson: Landon Seitz; two sisters: Sheila (Sam) Rogers of Crystal City and Gail (the late Larry) Padgett of South Carolina; and four brothers: Butch (Verna) DeGeare, Tom (Kathy) DeGeare and Alan (Susan) DeGeare, all of Crystal City, and Fred (Debbie) DeGeare of De Soto.
A private service will be held at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
