L. Wade Roop II, 77, of De Soto died Dec. 22, 2021, at Festus Manor in Festus. Born June 10, 1944, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Mildred Marie (Dickman) and Lewis Wade Roop.
He is survived by his wife: Karen (Clark) Roop; four children: Lori (Brian) McKee of Festus, Lewis (Kelly) Roop III of De Soto, Charles (Stephanie) Roop of De Soto and Jonathan (Samantha) Roop of Hillsboro; his stepmother: Cathy Camp Roop of De Soto; six grandchildren: Collin McKee, Sean McKee, Jonathan Roop, II, Jaxson Roop, Hunter Crisel and Rebecca Crisel; and a great-grandchild: Oden.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1620 Boyd St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. G. Michael Rose. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis 63132. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
