Kenneth E. Tate, 80, of Cedar Hill died May 24, 2022, in Cedar Hill. Mr. Tate liked watching sports on TV, crafting Christmas decorations, spending time out in the sun and taking care of his yard and growing flowers. He had a talent for drawing and loved to draw cartoons for his children and portraits of his late wife. He will be remembered for his kind heart and laughter. Born Feb. 11, 1942, in Wayne, Mich., he was the son of the late Calvin and Mamie (Jeragan) Tate.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy (Hylla) Tate.
He is survived by three children: Victoria (Donald) Salmone of Catawissa, Katherine (Donald) Duncan of Pacific and Kenneth Tate Jr. of Cedar Hill; nine grandchildren: Michael (Michelle) Duncan, Mark (Jennifer) Duncan, Michelle Duncan-Woodcock, Eric (Nana) Salmone, Damien Salmone, Travis Wallis, Megan Duncan, Shane (Morgan) Wallis and Brandon Wallis; 18 great-grandchildren: Noah, Jacob, Jonah, Ally and Emma Duncan, Marcus Hyndrich, Brad, Austin and Christian Woodcock, Dylan Duncan-Woodcock, Elena Duncan-Jackson, Ren, Rui and Rai Salmone, Brooklyn, Cayden, Luna and Shawn Wallis; special friends: Jack and Donna Schilling; and many extended family and friends.
He also was preceded in death by one daughter: Kimberly Wallis; one grandson: Kenneth David Dee Duncan.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
