Karli Elizabeth Payne, 13, of Festus died July 4, 2022, in St. Louis. Karli was a student at Our Lady Catholic School in Festus. She was a member of St. Louis Crossfire Elite Volleyball Club, Louisville Lady Sluggers-Clark softball team and played CYC volleyball. She enjoyed baking and spending time with family and friends. Born April 16, 2009, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Lori Ann (DeRousse) and Gerald Ray Payne II of the Festus area.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers: Gerald Ray (Michelle Campbell) Payne III and Cayden A. Payne; a sister: Megan A. Payne; her grandparents: Mike and Shirley Arnold; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: David and Mary Ellen DeRousse.
Visitation is scheduled from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, at Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Greg Klump. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Karli Payne Scholarship Fund, Our Lady School, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, Festus, 63028. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
