Karl M. Herspiegel, 98, Hillsboro

Karl M. Herspiegel, 98, of Hillsboro died Nov. 21, 2021, at his home. Mr. Herspiegel was a retired delivery truck driver, a 50-year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union of America, and a former policeman in the German Army. He also was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro. Born March 30, 1923, in Hakofka, Ukraine, he was the son of the late Jacob and Agatha (Danenhauer) Herspiegel.

He is survived by his wife: Natalie (Sokolowski) Herspiegel; two sons: George P. Herspiegel of Buford, Ga., and Edward Herspiegel of Hillsboro; a daughter: Eleanor A. (Steve A. Earhart) King of Hillsboro; a sister: Kate Hackl of Calgary, Canada; and a grandson: Brandon (Kayla Nienhaus) King of Ballwin.

He also was preceded in death by a son: Karl M. Herspiegel; and three siblings: Jack Herspiegel, Margarete Vetter and Michael Herspiegel.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral services at noon Saturday (Nov. 27) at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
