Karl H. Carey, 78, of Ellisville died Dec. 26, 2019. Mr. Carey served 19 years in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. In 1998, he retired from General Electric as a manager. He loved traveling and enjoyed woodworking, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. Born Nov. 18, 1941, in Rockford, Ill., he was the son of Dorothy (Kling) and John Carey.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Louise Carey, whom he married April 24, 1965, in Rockford, Ill.; two children: John (Leah) Carey and Pat Carey; three grandchildren: Andrew, Allison and Aaron; a brother: Larry Carey; a brother-in-law: Edward Taubert: and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Mary Taubert.
Services will be held at a later date at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
