Karen Sue Hudson, 74, of Festus died Aug. 7, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Hudson enjoyed family gatherings, girls’ days out, and spending time with family and friends. Born April 16, 1947, in East St. Louis, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Simon and Violet Ruth Calahan. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ivan “Don” Hudson.
She is survived by two children: Jeanette (Lance) Hennemann and Joshua Hudson; two siblings: David Calahan of Festus and Sharon Koch of Cedar Hill; one grandchild: Samantha (Zach) Maddux of Festus; two cousins: John and Ross of Illinois; 11 nieces: Kelly Koch, Kimberly (Brandon) Dunman, Michelle (Vern) Lambert, Jennifer Koch, Stephanie, Rachel, Heather, Faye, Kathy, Joy, Melody; five nephews: Shawn, Tommy, Clark, Jason and Billy; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Donald Wayne “Donnie” Hudson; two siblings: Patricia Koch and Ricky Calahan; two aunts: Josie and Helen; and an uncle: Clarence.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
