Karen Marie Eschmann, 69, of Arnold died Dec. 24, 2020, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Ms. Eschmann was a member of the Catholic faith and had been a manager at Popes Cafeteria, Seven Kitchens and Famous-Barr (Macy’s) restaurants at the Crestwood and South County malls. Born May 1, 1951, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Ann (Rutkowski) and Adam Eschmann.
She is survived by her husband: Thomas Powell of Arnold; three children: Thomas (Erika) Powell II, Timothy (Susan) Powell and Michael (Amanda) Powell; four siblings: Charlie (Theresa) Eschmann, Jim Eschmann, Cynthia (John) Janesko and Mary (the late Mike) Wulfers; and nine grandchildren: Ethan, Isaac, Thomas, Ella, Wesley, Leah, Willow, Timothy and Evey.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Mike (Natalie) Eschmann.
Visitation is at noon until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County, officiated by Monsignor Kevin Callahan. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis, the St. Vincent de Paul Society in St. Louis or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
