June Sharmaine Laiben, 88, of Festus died Dec. 4, 2022, at Cedarhurst of Arnold. Mrs. Laiben was born July 24, 1934, in Kimmswick, the daughter of the late Alvina “Margaret” (Johnston) and Edward C. Zimpfer. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert J. Laiben
She is survived by three children: Larry (Janet) Laiben of De Soto, Robert “Bob” (Irene) Laiben of Bloomsdale and Brenda (Bob) Pigg of De Soto; a brother: Warren (the late Frankie) Zimpfer of Pevely; six grandchildren: Christopher (Eric Schnable) Laiben, Kelly (Dennis) Uding, Christina (Chris Whaley) Henneman, Tyler Young, Adam (Chad Rhinewalt) Young and Abby (Dylan Carner) Young; and three great-grandchildren: Alaina Uding, Lillian Uding and Quinn Carner. She was preceded in death by a brother: Edward (the late Marie) Zimpfer.
Visitation is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. until a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St. in Festus, officiated by Pastor Tish Green. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Food Pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
