Judith A. 'Judy' Speidel, 74, De Soto

Judith A. “Judy” Speidel, 74, of De Soto died July 6, 2022, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis County. Mrs. Speidel was a homemaker. Born July 24, 1947, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Pauline (Erny) and Leonard Christopher. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Allen “Jim” Speidel.

She is survived by her friend and traveling companion: Jerry Emry of De Soto;  two children: Chris (Sandy Farris) Speidel of Festus and Tim (Maria) Speidel of Hillsboro; a sister: Betty Creswell; two sisters-in-law: Joyce Christopher and Pam (Bill) Hart; three brothers-in-law: John Speidel, Gary (Kathy) Speidel and Rick Speidel; three grandchildren: Amber, Saeley and Isaac; and two great-grandchildren: Skylynn and Kinsley. She was preceded in death by a sister: Patsy A. (Terry) Howard; and two brothers: Richard “Dick” Christopher Sr. and Jim (Mildred “Mimi”) Christopher.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a funeral service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Terry Crank. Private burial will be in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery Mausoleum in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis, 1300 Strassner Dr., Brentwood 63144. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
