Joyce Young, 86, of De Soto died Jan. 24, 2020, in Crystal City. Ms. Young was a homemaker. Born May 21, 1933, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Elsie Bell (Meyers) McMullin. She was preceded in death by her husband: Eugene Young.
She is survived by five children: Jerry (Shirley) Young of De Soto, Cindy Young of Crystal City, Sharon (Mark) Meyer of Crystal City, Mark Young of Pevely and Richard Young of De Soto; six grandchildren: Nicole (Jim) Turnbull, Shannon (Becky) Young, Jarrod Young, Megan Young, Kati Atkins and Preston (Wendy) Young; six great-grandchildren: Storm, Austin, Madison, Grace, Paige and Karter; and three great great-grandchildren: Riley, Abigail and Kassandra.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Eldon, Ralph, Ronald and Charlie McMullin.
Visitation is at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Burial is in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
