John V. Lewis, 75, of West Plains, formerly of De Soto, died Dec. 22, 2021, at his home. Mr, Lewis was born May 16, 1946, in De Soto, the youngest of 12 children of the late Ernest Benjermin and Mary Katherine (Haverstick) Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Mary Margaret (Wideman) Lewis; a daughter: Laura Katherine (Lowell) Stewart; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers: David Lewis of Boise, Idaho, and Charles Lewis of Raymore; a sister: Patricia Lewis Crain of Festus; a sister-in-law: Mona Faye Lewis of Hillsboro;
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Ernest Benjermin Jr., Cecil, Robert, Raymond and Richard; three sisters: Opal Schillinger, Gladys Hammack and Mary Katherine Flecke.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, May 22, in West Plains.
