John Arthur Ogle, 57, De Soto

John Arthur Ogle, 57, of De Soto died July 26, 2021, in Crystal City. Mr. Ogle served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper and was part of the invasion of Grenada in 1983. He was a tree trimmer and was often deployed to work national disasters. He was a graduate of De Soto High School and captain of the state championship wrestling team in 1982. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking and swimming, and loved pets and wildlife. Born April 11, 1964, in Denver, Colo., he was the son of the late Georgia Lee “Susie” (Bates) Ogle.

He is survived by a daughter: Ashley (Logan Rodgers) Ogle; two cousins: Theresa Benton and Rita Benton Birch; and numerous other cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Arthur J. Bates and Mildred (Koter) Bates Ogle; as well as Elmer and Dode Ogle.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial was private. Arrangements were under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
