Joel Hernandez, 59, of De Soto died Jan. 5, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Hernandez was a roofer. Born Sept. 1, 1961, in Corpus Christi, Texas, he was the son of the late Joe T. and Eva (Palacios) Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife: Kathy M. (Barnett) Hernandez of De Soto; five children: Jason (Renee) Parsons of Barnhart, Joshua (Kristin) Parsons of Sunset Hills, Jacob (Amy) Parsons of Hillsboro, Joseph (Nicole) Parsons of Fenton and Joseph Hernandez of Fenton; a son-in-law: Kyle Courtois of De Soto; two siblings: Diana (Danny) Kyle of House Springs and John Homer (Karen) Hernandez of Ballwin; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Lindsey Hernandez Courtois.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until a funeral service at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
