Joanna Adelsberger, 75, of Festus died Oct. 10, 2020. She was a registered nurse and worked in the maternity ward at the old St. Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood for many years. She was known for her “green thumb,” and she loved spending time with her grandson and dogs. Born Aug. 2, 1943, in Webster Groves, she was the daughter of the late Eldorus Andrew and Florence (Young) Harter.
She is survived by a daughter: Kelly Adelsberger of Florissant; a grandson: Chase Gilchrist; a nephew: Brian Setzer; a niece: Adrianne Skelton; and her dogs: Lola, Toby, Hope and Extra.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters: Cathay Harter, Judith Beck and Suzanna Setzer; and a niece: Wendy Caldwell.
A celebration of life memorial will be held later. Memorials may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in Festus.
