Joan Eileen Masters, 64, of Festus died Nov. 20, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Masters was a human resources director at Epoch Group in St. Louis county and for the Jefferson County government. She also was a member of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City. Born May 29, 1952, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Eunice LaVerne (Neal) and LaMont Paul “Pat” Watkins.
She is survived by her husband: Randall E. “Randy” Masters; two sons: Nathan Turley of Pevely and Randy Masters Jr. of High Ridge; two sisters: Joyce Diane (Gary L.) Smith of Jefferson City and Nancy (James B.) Axtetter of Festus; one niece: Emily Pea; and four nephews: Jeremy Battles, Joshua (Jenny) Battles, Alex (Ginger) Smith and Doug (Abby) Smith.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus and from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City, 107 N. Truman Blvd., in Crystal City, officiated by Dr. Charles McLain. Burial will be in the Presbyterian and Methodist Cemetery in Festus. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
