Emerson, Jimmy

Jimmy Emerson Jr., 50, of Pevely died Feb. 16, 2022, at his home. Mr. Emerson worked as an insurance salesman, a volunteer EMT and firefighter from 1992-1996 and was a contractor for J&E Contracting. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved spending time with his family. He was born Jan.18, 1972, in St. Louis, the son of Catherine “Kay” (Lopretta) Emerson of De Soto and the late Jimmy Emerson. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons: Travis Emerson of Moscow Mills and Levi Emerson of Fletcher; two daughters: Shelby (Tyler) Davis of Winfield and Chloe Emerson of Fletcher; a brother: Derek (Stacy) Emerson of Fletcher; a sister: Amanda (Brian) Austin of Bonne Terre; a nephew: Bailey Austin; and numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister: Brittany Emerson.

Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial will follow in the Peaceful Ridge Mausoleum in De Soto. Memorials may be made to a fund established through the funeral home or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
