Schaeffer, Jerry

Jerry D. Schaeffer, 59, of Cedar Hill died Oct. 20, 2018, in St. Louis. Mr. Schaeffer was a leadman at Marlo Coil and a motorcycle enthusiast. Born Oct. 20, 1959, in Berthoud, Colo., he was the son of the late Vernon and Lois (Armstrong) Schaeffer. He was preceded in death by his wife: Karen Sue (Morgan) Schaeffer.

He is survived by two sons: Jimmy (Leslie) Schaeffer of Hillsboro and Christopher (Jennifer) Schaeffer of Cedar Hill; two brothers: William Schaeffer of De Soto and John Schaeffer of Belleville, Ill.; a sister: Bonnie (Steve) Pursley of North Platte, Neb.; three siblings-in-law: Paula Massey of Cedar Hill, Mike (Wendy) Morgan of Cedar Hill and Wendall (Missy) Morgan of Wappapello; seven grandchildren: Jacob, James, Justin, Ethan, Abby, Austin and Stella; and one great-grandchild: Marshall.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Orville Schaeffer.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the funeral home chapel. Burial is in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
