Jerome Otto Klipsch, 79, of Byrnes Mill died March 14, 2020. Mr. Klipsch served in the U.S. Air Force as a navigator. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Louis University and master’s degrees in computer resource management and finance from Webster University, and retired from Northrop Grumman in 2008. He was a member of American Legion Post 783 and an honorary member of the Missouri Sheriffs’ Association. He was passionate about golf and enjoyed his regular golf outings.
Mr. Klipsch has served as an alderman for the city of Byrnes Mill since 1996, and was a strong, proud supporter of the city until his death.
Born May 11, 1940, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Charles and Clara Ann Klipsch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ann (Norman) Klipsch, whom he married on Jan. 22, 1966, and who died in 2016.
He is survived by a son: Thomas (Teresa) Klipsch of Edwardsville, Ill.; a daughter: Susan Klipsch of Pacific; and two brothers: Charles Klipsch and Bernard Klipsch.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Clarann.
Mr. Klipsch’s wishes were to be cremated. Following a small private service, he will be buried next to his wife of 50 years in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the ASPCA.
