Jeffrey D. Pyrtle, 68, of De Soto died June 21, 2021, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Pyrtle owned and operated T&J Towing and Auto Repair since 1987. After graduating from De Soto High, he served seven years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War before he was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. He was born March 21, 1953, in Centerville.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Theresa (McClinton) Pyrtle; a son: Brandon (fiance Alex Wilson) Pyrtle; a daughter: Amanda (Drew) Duffner; five grandchildren: Kristopher and Brandon Pyrtle, Anderson and Aleah Duffner and Nova Magar; a brother: George (Mary) Pyrtle of Cape Girardeau; three half-siblings; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Anna (the late Leroy) O’Neil.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at the De Soto Knights of Columbus, 13225 Hwy. E. Memorials may be made to the ASPCA, Canines in Crisis or the De Soto Animal Shelter.
