Jeanette Edna Schneider, 79, of Festus died June 14, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Schneider was the church secretary and a member of the First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City. She enjoyed reading, the St. Louis Cardinals and dining at the Country Cafe. Born Sept. 1, 1939, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Edna Eletha (Wyman) and Charles Jackson Seals Jr.
She is survived by her husband: Jackie Ray Schneider; a daughter: Cara (Bill) Akridge of Festus; two sons: Robert (Donna) Schneider of De Soto and Marc (Gwen) Schneider of Savannah, Ga.; three grandchildren: Christopher (Lisa) Akridge of St. Louis, Bill (Sarah) Akridge of Pevely and Madison Schneider of Portland, Ore.; a great-grandchild: Macy Gene Akridge of Pevely; and numerous family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Myrtle J. Elfrank-Pearson and Dorothy Mae Rouggly.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 17, at Mahn Funeral Home, 515 Collins Drive, in Festus. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
