Jason Christopher Smith, 37, Imperial

Jason Christopher Smith, 37, of Imperial died June 28, 2021, at his home. Mr. Smith was the owner of Custom Lawns. He enjoyed fishing, working on boats and racing go-carts, and his top priority was taking care of his grandparents. Born July 1, 1983, in Wichita, Kan., he was the son of Becky (Riggs) Smith of Kimberling City and Ron Lee (Stephanie) Smith of Pevely.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Mary (Thorpe) Smith of Imperial; a son: Brandon Smith of Imperial; two daughters: Rebecca and Makayla Stefl, both of Imperial; grandparents Donnell (Ethel) Meyer of Crystal City; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother: Brandon Smith; four grandparents: Clyde Riggs, Youel Smith, and Merlen and Ann Ray; a cousin: Kurtis Allen; and an aunt: Barbara Riggs.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday (July 1) at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday (July 2) at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink. Burial will be in Herculaneum Cemetery. Arrangements are under Vinyard Funeral Home.
