Jarrett Johnson, 24, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Festus, died Aug. 22, 2022, in Las Vegas. Mr. Johnson played football at both Hillsboro and Festus high schools and went on to play at Lindenwood University in St. Charles. He was actively pursuing a career in the XFL. Born Dec. 19, 1997, in St. Louis, he was the son of Crystal (Brinkley) Martin and John J. Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers: Cole Johnson and Jeriah Johnson; three sisters: Dejah Lanos, Leah Martin and Jaida Johnson; his grandparents: Archie Johnson, Reamel Wallace and Wayne Brinkley; two uncles: Beau Brinkley and Arty Johnson; and three aunts: Chariese Reichert, Helen Johnson and Antoinette Johnson. He was preceded in death by a brother: Justice Johnson; and his grandmother: Nelly Galagher.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until a funeral service at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at Cross Point Church, also known as Living Faith Church, 2170 Buck Creek Road, in Festus. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
