Jannette C. Farmer, 72, of University City died Feb. 26, 2019, at University City Forest Manor. Mrs. Farmer was a former custodian for the Festus R-6 School District. She had been a member of the American War Mothers-Harrison Cook Chapter, Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Seniors Group Heman Park of University City. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the L.A. Lakers, visiting the sick and doing missionary work, and she loved wearing hats. Born Nov. 10, 1946, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Anna Mae (Ellis) Bingham. She was preceded in death by her husband: Howard Earl Farmer.
She is survived by two daughters: Angela Walker of St. Louis and Juanita Jones of St. Louis; one brother: Stanley Bingham of Festus; two sisters: Annette (Paul) Hall of Festus and Vera Bingham of Festus; and three grandchildren: Joerell W. Walker, Imani A. Walker and Josephine Jones-Davis.
She also was preceded in death by one son: Keith Bingham; one sister: Verena Robinson; and one brother-in-law: Richard Robinson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral services at noon, Saturday, March 9, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. Burial will be on a later date at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
