Janet Gail Ogle, 83, of Springfield died Feb. 27, 2021, at The Neighborhoods of Quail Creek in Springfield. Ms. Ogle was a retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone and AT&T in Festus and had worked as a teller for the former PNC Bank in Festus. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Springfield. Born Oct. 8, 1937, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Nellie Estelle (Young) and William Henry Ogle.
She is survived by a niece: Linda (Randy) Underwood of Springfield; two great-nephews: Jacob Underwood of Springfield and Daniel (Lisa) Hunning of Colorado; two great-nieces: Michelle (Matt) Eisenhower and Stephanie (Jon) Umfleet of Hillsboro; four great-great nieces; and two great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Shirley Mae (the late Delmar) Hunning; and a brother: Ronald H. (the late Helen) Ogle.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, in Woodlawn Memorial Park in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Terry Crank. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
