Raines, Jace

Jace Parker Raines, 28, of St. Louis died Aug. 7, 2020, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Raines was born June 17, 1992, in Columbus, Miss., the son of Lacretia and Tony (Vanessa) Raines, and lived in Nashville, Tenn., until 2015, when he relocated to St. Louis. He was very creative, and loved painting, drawing and building furniture. His passion for cooking led him to pursue a degree in culinary arts from Hickey College in St. Louis, and he graduated in 2017. His other passions included spending time with his family and friends, music, cheering on the St. Louis Blues hockey team, and watching his favorite movies and shows. He was a huge fan of both Star Wars and Dragon Ball Z.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Ashley (Ryan) Raines; a son: Liam Mitchell; a sister: Chelsie (Josh) Parker; his parents-in-law: Catherine and Michael J. Ryan; a brother-in-law: Michael W. Ryan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Harriett and Clayton Lewis and Bill Raines.

A celebration of life will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Tamm Avenue Bar, 1227 Tamm Ave., in St. Louis. A second celebration of life will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Charlie Daniels Park Amphitheater, 1075 Charlie Daniels Parkway, in Mt. Juliet, Tenn. A burial service will immediately follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens, where Mr. Raines will be buried near his beloved grandparents.
