Ida Ellen Musgrove, 89, formerly of Festus, died Oct. 24, 2021, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, N.C. Mrs. Musgrove worked as a nurse for 30 years. She served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. She also was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City and Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus. She loved spending time with her family, and she enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers and bird watching. Born March 10, 1932, in Homer, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Ida Margarite (Sagel) and James Birmingham.
She also was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years: Charles “Chuck” Musgrove.
She is survived by three daughters: Ida Charlene (William) Huddle of Phillipsburg, Donna (Ralph) Aubuchon of Festus and Lisa (Stan) Joseph of Raleigh, N.C.; four sons: Robert (Gail) Jewson of St. Charles, Mick (Threasa-Faye) Musgrove of Farmington, Bernard (Kate) Musgrove of Houston and Raymond (Sandy) Musgrove of Festus; 12 grandchildren: Steven Huddle of Springfield, Ill., David Neeter of St. Charles, Helena (John) Edwards of Las Vegas, Chris Musgrove of French Village, Beth (Shane) Melton of De Soto, Robert (Pam) Aubuchon of De Soto, Jennifer Grove of Greensboro, N.C., Theresa Aubuchon of Festus, Jacob Musgrove of Farmington, Jessica (Jason Braun) Musgrove of Ste. Genevieve, Ashley (Jordan) Mauk of Las Vegas and Destiny Joseph of Cookstown, N.J.; 18 great-grandchildren: Daulton Melton, Gabby Melton, Eric Mahue, Katie Mahue, Ryan Huddle, Gabrielle Huddle, Billy Huddle Jr., Rebekah Huddle, Chanse Conner, Destin Conner, Asher Musgrove, Jordan Aubuchon, Josephine Musgrove, Zander Braun, Cora Musgrove, Alaina Braun, Brenden Valencia and Alexander Hilliard; one great-great-grandchild: Tristan Hilliard; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant son: Dominic Musgrove; a grandson: Billy Huddle; and eight siblings.
A graveside service will be at noon Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wilhelmina. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
