Howard “Howie” Lancaster III, 57, of Festus died Sept. 27, 2021, in Oklahoma. Mr. Lancaster worked many jobs throughout his life, his favorite being a cook at Living Springs Camp. He was a Christian and aspired to be a professional chef. Born June 1, 1965, in St. Louis, he was the son of Betty (Galloway) and Howard Lancaster Jr. of Festus.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother: John “Chris” (Michelle) Lancaster of Gary, Ind.; a sister: Heather (Aaron) Wright of Elmore, Ala.; three sons: Ian, Caleb and Jeremy; two daughters: Chauntel and Brittany; his caregiver: Janet Alston; a great-aunt: Beverly (Lancaster) Thompson; four aunts: Diane (Vince) Gotto, Kathy Landess, Darlene (Steve) Johnson and Judy (Dennis) Rauls; two uncles: Jim (Sherry) Galloway and Rick (Ruth) Oberle; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two uncles: Darrell Oberle and Richard Landess.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Second Baptist Church, 723 Horine Road, in Festus, officiated by Pastor James King and the Rev. Jim Waymire officiating. Mr. Lancaster chose to be cremated. Memorials in his honor may be made to Living Springs Camp, 13975 Living Springs Camp Road, Festus, 63028.
