Helen “Marlene” Govreau, 80, of Pevely died Aug. 18, 2015, at Delmar Gardens Meramec Valley in Fenton. Ms. Govreau was a retired unit secretary at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely. Born Nov. 19, 1934, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Olive Helen (Baker) and Otto H. Fleischer.
She is survived by a daughter: Laurie L. (Mark) Sanneman of High Ridge; a sister: Olive “Babe” (Boyd) Carron of Pevely; a niece: Stephanie (Ron) Smith of Pevely; a nephew: Doug Carron of De Soto, two great-nephews: Lane Fritzsche and Taylor Carron; and a great-niece: Leah (Matt) Smith.
A memorial gathering is scheduled at noon and a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely, officiated by Dr. Rev. Mart Thompson. Burial is in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 1201 Macklind Avenue, St. Louis, 63110; or to the ASPCA. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
