Helen Louise Nichols, 86, of Pevely died June 3, 2019, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Nichols was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely, where she also was a member of the Lady’s Aid. She was born May 25, 1933, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Freda (Nippert) and Charles G. Ruebel. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert LaVaughn Nichols.
She is survived by a daughter: Diana (Kevin) Jones of Glenarm, Ill.; a son: Richard (Anne) Nichols of De Soto; seven grandchildren: Erica (Wally) Cook, Marla (Robert) Tebbenkamp, Ryan L. Nichols, Todd R. Nichols, Luke I. Nichols, Raymond Poole and Mark Charles Nichols; and seven great-grandchildren: Gracie Cook, Roman Nichols, James Nichols, Jason Tebbenkamp, Tyler Tebbenkamp, Lydia Nichols and Emmanuel Poole.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Betty (the late Oman) Broombaugh.
A funeral service was held June 8 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely, officiated by Pastor Bryan Roberts. Burial is in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Zion Lutheran Church of Pevely. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
