Hazel Goldie (Schroeder) Rose, 98, of High Ridge died March 9, 2020. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, cooking for her family and spending time with family. Born Jan. 18, 1922, in House Springs, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Schad) Schroeder.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Emil H. Rose, whom she met at a dance at the Liberty Dance Hall in High Ridge.
She is survived by nine children: Dale (Terri) Rose of Pacific, Alvin (Barbara) Rose of De Soto, Shirley Gipson of Cuba, Mo., Ethel Drew of Bowling Green, Wayne (Pamela) Rose of High Ridge, Vernon (Theresa) Rose of Villa Ridge, Cathy Humes of High Ridge, Linda (Paul) Bonacker of House Springs and Kenneth (Kim) Rose of High Ridge; 18 grandchildren: Daniel Rose, Brian (Sylvia) Rose, Jennifer Rose, Jeff Gipson, Kevin (Kimberly) Gipson, Roger (Holly) Drew, Bridget Rose, Aaron Rose, Keith (Angie) Rose, John (Mollie) Humes, Christina (Marcus) Cummings, Michael (Courtney) Bonacker, Christopher (Christy) Bonacker, Brian (Darci) McAfee, Michael (Leah) McAfee, Kenneth (Lindsey) Rose, Anna (Robert) Grindstaff and Sarah (Tim) Duke; 29 great-grandchildren: Gracie, Connor, Levi, Braden, Nicholas, Jackson, Colton, Caleb, Dustin, Taylor, Ellie, Lucy, Dalton, Matthew, Katie, Logan, Carson, Cayla, Preslee, Maggie, Caden, Aidric, Kendall, Karli, Jackson, Jensen, Skylar, Hunter and Holly; a special caregiver: Sandy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sons-in-law: Gary Gipson, Stephen Humes and Glen Drew; four siblings: Fern Wohlbold, Clara Hand, Joe Schroeder and Hubert Schroeder; and two nieces.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 13, at St. Martin United Church of Christ, 3229 High Ridge Blvd., in High Ridge. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at the church. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to St. Martin UCC in High Ridge. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
