Harry L. Parker, 94, of Fenton died July 6, 2019. Mr. Parker was a U.S. Army veteran who served from June 1943 to January 1946. He served during World War II and saw action in New Guinea, the Philippines and Okinawa and was part of the Occupational Forces in Japan. He was awarded three Bronze Stars.

He was a member of Fenton Baptist Church since 1962. In 1987, he retired from TRW Inc., where he worked as a tool and die maker. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, playing pinochle and talking with people he met through Parker’s Small Engine Repair.

Born March 17, 1925, he was the son of the late Hershel and Rosa (Wolfe) Parker. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years: Betty (Davis) Parker.

He is survived by two children: Sherry (Henry) Parker DeNoon and Vernon (Sharon) Parker; six grandchildren: Stacy (Brad) DeNoon Nash, Teresa DeNoon, Tamra DeNoon DeBonnaire, Rachel (Adam) Parker Pinto, Nathan Parker and Philip (Sally) Parker; nine great-grandchildren: Trevor Nash, Braelyn Haynes, Ashley and Todd DeBonnaire, Henry Dillon, Sofia, Asher and Gabriella Pinto and June Parker; and one brother: Raymond Parker.

He also was preceded in death by four brothers: Vernon, Lewis, Albert and Clyde Parker; one sister: Mildred Jamerson; one brother-in-law: Lowell Jamerson; and two sisters-in-law: Lucille (Harrelson) Parker and Jean (Hall) Parker.

Funeral services were July 15 at First Baptist Church of Fenton. Arrangements were under the direction of Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton.
