Harold Lee French, 72, of Pevely died July 23, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. French worked for more than 20 years as a ship welder at St. Louis Shipyard. He retired as a water meter reader for Public Water District 7 in Mapaville. Born Feb. 12, 1950, in Paragould, Ark., he was the son of the late Ruthie (Dunn) and Homer French.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Barbara (Sanders) French.
He is survived by a son: Harold Douglas French of Pevely; a daughter: Sherry Leann (Chris) Marler of Bonne Terre; two brothers: Homer Wayne (Brenda) French of College Station, Texas, and Irvin (Carol) French of Perryville; two grandchildren: Emily Ann and Suzy Marie Marler; a sister-in-law: Lee Anna French of Park Hills; and many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers: Carol Henry and Darrell Ray French; and a granddaughter: Anna Marie Marler.
The family will hold private services. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice Jefferson. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
