Harold “Harry” Beck, 77, of Herculaneum died Aug. 11, 2020, at his home. Mr. Beck was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial. Born Dec. 2, 1942, in Malden, he was the son of the late George Dalton and Celia (Batson) Beck.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Paula (Apel) Beck; a son: Mark (Elizabeth) Beck of De Soto; two daughters: Christine (Scott) Young of Pevely and Julie (Glenn) Brown of Festus; two sisters: Sharon (Gary) Parker of Desloge and Pat (the late Melvin) Skidmore of Norfolk, Calif.; a brother-in-law: Dona Williams of Bloomsdale; seven grandchildren: Chad (Christine) Beck, Jordan Brown, Kasandra Beck, Noah (Jessica Mangnall) Brown, Hunter Beck, Grace Young and Ella Brown; four great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Brown, Scarlett Beck, Sawyer Beck and Penelope Brown; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Bobby Beck; and a sister: Carol Williams.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 324 S. Second, De Soto, 63020; or to Sister Christine’s Food Pantry through St. Joseph Parish Outreach in Imperial. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
