Harold G. “Howdy” Holmes II, 48, of De Soto died Aug. 23, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Holmes was a laborer.He was a member of Elks Lodge 689 and enjoyed working on cars. He was born Feb. 2, 1972, in Crystal City, the son of the late Harold G. and Opal L. (Watson) Holmes.
He is survived by his companion: Belle Parmeley, and her daughter, Clara Jean Bradley of De Soto; four children: Sarah (Jake Ortmann) Holmes of Hillsboro, Samantha Holmes of De Soto, Laura (Rion Burns) Holmes of Bonne Terre and Luke (Kelsey) Madden of Cape Girardeau; two siblings: Rhonda (Russ) Boehringer of High Ridge and Ron (Carole) Adams of St. Louis; and four grandchildren: Holden Lane, Leon, Eli and Zoey.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Don Adams.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Willie Hinch. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
