Gladys Rose (Krodinger) Drummond, 86, of De Soto died Feb. 17, 2021, at her home. Along with her late husband, Ms. Drummond owned Drummond's Nursery, Greenhouse and Florist. She was a life-long member of St. Rose and Lime Catholic Church, and she volunteered with her church and helped start the St. Rose auction to benefit its school. She was also a member of Daughters of Isabella, Columbia Anns and the Henry Shaw Cactus Society. Born May 24, 1934, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Max and Gertrude (Wintz) Krodinger.
She also was preceded in death by her husband: Frederick Burda Drummond.
She is survived by three daughters: Julie G. (Wayne) Ott of De Soto, Donna C. (Terry) Reando of De Soto and Theresa A. Wilkinson of French Village; a son: Fred K. (Kim) Drummond of De Soto; a son-in-law: Tony Vallo of De Soto; a daughter-in-law: Lauren Juliette of De Soto; two sisters: Mabel Jennings of De Soto and Ann (Carl) Oberle of De Soto; two brothers: Donald (Karen) Krodinger of De Soto and Larry (Sue) Krodinger of De Soto; 17 grandchildren: Jarod (Lauren) Drummond of Festus, Ben (Kelly) Drummond of Valles Mines, Leslie (Nick) Marchetti of De Soto, Grant (Natalie) Bowen of Festus, Audrey (Jake) Williams of De Soto, Alanna (Garrett) Oliver of Macon, Travis (Apryl) Ott of De Soto, Josh (Amy Westfall) Reando of St. Louis, Tyler (Megan) Reando of De Soto, Chad Reando of De Soto, Alexandra (Trent) McCullough of De Soto, Trevor Reando of De Soto, Bryan (Rachel) Wilkinson of Festus, David Wilkinson of De Soto, Melanie (Josh) Treis of French Village, Frederick Drummond of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Olivia (Nick Moore) Drummond of De Soto; 26 great-grandchildren: Kendra, Braxton, Brenton, Milayna, Joseph, Sophia, Nicholas, Collin (Alexis), Parker, Jayden, Tatum, Lane, Lance, Harper, Wyatt, Waylon, Wynston, Josephine, Adeline, Elora, Abel, Eve, Connor, Paige, Brynna and Cecelia.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Joseph “Joe” Drummond; a daughter: Mary R. Vallo; a granddaughter: Evelyn Drummond; three sisters: Fern Kruger, Joan Armsey and Maxine Piloski; a brother: Ralph Krodinger; a sister-in-law: M. Elizabeth “Liz” Krodinger; two brothers-in-law: Alfred Krueger Sr. and Bud Jennings; and a son-in-law: Dave Wilkinson.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 21) at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. Services will begin with morning prayers at 10:15 a.m. Monday (Feb. 22) at the funeral home, followed at 11 a.m. with a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Lima Catholic Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Adopt an Angel at St. Rose School. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
