Gladys Ida Haverstick, 93, of Festus died Dec. 19, 2018, at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing in Crystal City. Mrs. Haverstick was a retired cashier for the Kroger store and worked for Gasen’s Drug Store, both in Festus. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Festus. Born Aug. 20, 1925, in Canalou, she was the daughter of the late Iva Pearl (Julian) and Earl Harding. She was preceded in death by her husband: Roy. W. Haverstick.
She is survived by two sons: Roy Earl (former wife Diane) Haverstick of Festus; Mark Allen (Christine) Haverstick of Festus; a sister: Juanita Walls of Florida; a brother: Carl “Bud” Harding of Otto; four grandchildren: Daniel (Amanda) Haverstick, Jennifer (Mike) Brickhaus, Becky Richardson and Annie Richardson; a great-grandson: Miles Allen Haverstick; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Billy Joe Harding.
A funeral service was held Dec. 21 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Daniel Haverstick. Burial was in the De Soto City Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
