Crow, Georgia

Georgia F. Crow, 84, of De Soto, formerly of Kimmswick, died April 17, 2017, in De Soto. Mrs. Crow was an active member of the Kimmswick community, having served as its mayor and having worked in the Kimmswick Post Office and as a bus driver for St. Joseph School. She started the restaurant that would become the Blue Owl Restaurant and later owned and operated the Old House Restaurant. She was a member of the Kimmswick Historical Society and a charter member of the Apple Butter Festival committee. She was born Feb. 20, 1933, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Florence E. (Crowley) Grimshaw. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ervin B. Crow.        

She is survived by eight children: Cathy (Denzel) McGraw of Bismarck, Mike (Alice) Crow of Phoenix, Ariz., Cindy (Tony) Lammert of De Soto, Margie (Bob) Brinkley of Hillsboro, Brad (Melinda) Crow of Kimmswick,

Laura (Dwayne) Taylor of De Soto, Brian (Michael Schomburg) Crow of Ballwin and Dina (Jerry Jr.) Appleton of De Soto; 10 siblings: Gracie (Val) Pfluger, Florence “De De” Coleman, Jerry (Millie) Grimshaw, Adelaide (Tom) Herrell, Helen (John) Meyer, George “Yawtz” (Marty) Grimshaw, Mary (Donald) Rudisaile, Cecelia “Ce Ce”(Gary) Sickmeyer; Rosemary “Rosie” (Ron) Middleton and Virginia “Ginny” Grimshaw; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son: Keith Crow; and a brother: Donald  Grimshaw.

A memorial gathering will be held at 9:30 a.m. and a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
