Gail Lynn (Britton) Powell, 56, of Festus died July 3, 2015, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Ms. Powell was born June 4, 1959, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Virginia (Setzer) and William C. Britton.
She is survived by a son: Christopher (Lucy Stringer) Powell of Hillsboro; three grandchildren: Anthony Allen Powell of Festus, Ashlynn Marie Powell of Festus and Robert Daniel Powell of Hillsboro; three sisters: Brenda Woods of Maryland, Vicky Britton-Collins of Annapolis and Denise “Sam” Warren of Festus; a brother: Richard “Rick” Britton of De Soto; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Robert P. Powell Jr.; and a sister: Sharon Britton.
Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. and a funeral service for 1 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth, in Hillsboro. Burial is in the Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
