Funston E. “Spud” Warren, 89, of Fenton died Oct. 30, 222, in St. Louis. Mr. Warren was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, camping, working around the house and the yard, watching old Western movies, the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time with family. Born Nov. 21, 1932, in Shannon County, he was the son of the late Walter and Alice (Heaton) Warren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Thelma (Martin) Warren.
He is survived by six children: John (Marlea) Warren, Melinda (Arbi Ben Abdallah), Ed (Margaret) Warren, Rob (Candie) Warren, Larry (Celeste) Warren and Marty (Amber) Warren; 18 grandchildren: Justin (Megan) Warren, Sarah (Chad) Thomas, Josh Warren, Eli (Genny) Warren, Colin (Dee Dee) Stagner, Lucas Warren, Mindy (Rob) Miles, Marissa (Bobby) Barna, Colin (Kara) Warren, Ryan Warren, Chelsea Warren, Alison (Dylan) Stagner, Miriam Ben Abdallah, Emily (Corey) Halker, Caitlyn Warren, Leila Ben Abdallah, Andrea Warren and Jake Warren; 19 great-grandchildren: Ellee, Briana, River, Kennedy, Funston, Abbey, Allice, Lilliana, Rose, Charlette, Darius, Nora, Nadja, Violet, Loreli, Peyton, Loxley, Jules and Griffin; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by 12 siblings: Hazel (Les) Hare, Frieda (William) Bell, Dorothy Lyerla, Thela (Gene) Vale, Ansel (Mary) Warren, Wanda Warren, Laurel (Sylvia) Warren, Calvin (Myrtle) Warren, Amos (Nellie) Warren, Audrey Warren, Bernetta Warren and Lindell Warren; and a daughter-in-law: Roberta Cawthorn Warren.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2735 High Ridge Blvd., in High Ridge. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Vitas Healthcare or Fellowship Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
