Freddie “Rocky” Burnia Jr., 78, Festus died Aug. 22, 2022. Mr. Burnia, who lived in Festus for more than 16 years, was a truck driver and was a member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club and Festus VFW Post 3777. Born Feb. 24, 1944, he was the son of the late Melba (Cain) and Freddie Burnia Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Karen (Hollis) Burnia; 10 children: Billy (Elizabeth) Hollis, Billie Jean (Gary) Rose, Debbie (Terry) Baker, Missy (Paul) Johnston, Tammy Meade and Daniel (Angie), Sheila, Freddie, Brandy and Cody Burnia; six siblings: Vicky (Gary) Earp, Betty Burnia, Joann (Kenny) McDaniel, Robin (Shane) Brown, Peggy (Harry) Dewitt and Sue (Jim) Fithian; 24 grandchildren: Donald, Heather, Shauna, Kyle, Matt, Cora, Taylor, Cameron, Samantha, Arron, Kevin, Eric, Molly, Katie, Cheynne, Scott, Frannie, Kim, Emma, Joshua, Nichole, Andrew, Melissa and Jacob; 20 great-grandchildren; and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by a son: Mike Speece; and three siblings: Kay (Don) Dias, Randy Burnia and Woodrow Burnia.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, at Fey Funeral Home, 4100 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis. Another visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fey Funeral Home.
