Fred Joseph Goode, 59, of Union died Jan. 14, 2021, at his home. Mr. Goode had attended Eureka Junior High and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Eureka. He worked as a residential and commercial roofer and was a member of Union Local 2. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors, and in his younger years he liked working on cars. Born Dec. 14, 1961, in St. Louis, he was the son of Catherine (Wease) Goode and the late Albert Goode.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 34 years: Karen (Moore) Goode, whom he married on July 14, 1986, in Eureka; his parents-in-law: Catherine and Howard Moore of Union; a son: Benjamin Goode of Hawaii; three daughters: Amanda (Jordan) Miles of Gerald, Jessica (Michael) Bagwell of Eureka and Deborah Goode of Union; a brother: Ronald Lee (Barbara) Goode of O’Fallon; three stepbrothers: Leslie Moore of Union, Ronald Dale (Carol) Moore of New Mexico and Douglas (Shirley) Moore of St. Clair; two sisters: Margaret Chambless of St. Louis County and Pamela (Michael) Pettibone of St. Charles; seven grandchildren: Austin Moore, Rebecca Bagwell, Savannah Goode, Madison Miles, James Bagwell, Joanna Bagwell and Archer Goode; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: William Goode and Stephen Goode; and a sister: Rose Thompson.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at Midlawn Funeral Home, 7280 Hwy. 47, in Union. Memorials may be made to Autism Speaks. Arrangements are under the direction of Midlawn Funeral Home.
