Francis O. “Nanny” Darian Sr., 85, of Imperial died Sept. 25, 2016, at his son’s home in Sullivan. Mr. Darian was a member of Carpenters Union Local 5. He was a devout Catholic and a proud Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army. He was born Aug. 23, 1931, in St. Louis, the son of the late Frances M. (Shoutie) and Fred C. Darian.
He is survived by his seven children: Dennis W. Darian, Robin K., Sherrie Ann, Francis “Tinker” (Linda) Darian Jr. of Sullivan, Eunice (Mark) Downey of Imperial, Dawn Daniel (Woody) of McCrory, Ark., Kim Darian of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Joan Danback of Imperial.
A burial service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, in St. Louis County. Immediately following will be a reception/luncheon at the Rock Memorial American Legion Post, 910 Montebello Road, in Imperial. Arrangements are under the direction of St. Louis Cremation.
