Francis Elane Napier, 73, of Pevely died March 9, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Napier served as a deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department for 21 years from 1989 to 2010. After retirement, not quite ready to hang up her hat, she worked for six additional years as a transport officer with the Jefferson County Juvenile Office. She will be remembered as a selfless, caring and compassionate, offering help to troubled youth and friendship to all humans and animals. She was born Oct. 5, 1948, in Clarkton.
She is survived by two sisters: Mary and Shirley; a brother: Dannie; three children: sons Steven and Scott (Allison), and daughter Sherry; a “team” of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kyle (Tiffany), Dakota, Hunter, Brooke, Autumn, Summer, Abigail, Chase, Samantha and Mason; her former husband, Pat (whose wife, Debby, was one of her best shopping friends); and her dog, Sammie.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys; three sisters: Alice Faye and infants Lela May and Dorothy Jean; and her grandparents: Sam and Lela Cowell.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 p.m. until a funeral service at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Dr., in Festus. Burial is in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made by donating to our rescuing from the Jefferson County Animal Shelter in Barnhart Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
