Farrel Gayle Hasty, 79, of Dittmer died Dec. 27, 2022, in St. Louis. Mr. Hasty will be remembered as a proud American who worked hard to support his family. He was born Oct. 16, 1943, in New Madrid County, the son of the late Jonathan and Crystena (Maddox) Hasty.
He is survived by his wife: Debbie Ann (Steffe) Hasty; three children: Teresa Lynn (Jason) Smith, Tiffany Hasty and Jennifer Singleton; 13 grandchildren: Ryan Ide, Megan Tubb, Brielle Smith, Halen Smith, Jacob Cooper, John Harvell, Jordan Harvell, Jessie Kiander, Jenessa Hasty, Clayton Shawn, Kyle Floyd, Zachary Floyd and Christopher Singleton; a sister: Flora Hutto; three nieces and nephew: Brett Sale, Gina Gregg and Lisa Pueschel; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Tahnee Hasty Shawn.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to VFW Post 5331 in Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
