Eugene “Gene” Louis Cosma, 82, of Festus died Aug. 7, 2016, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. He was a retired welder for Mississippi River Transmission. Mr. Cosma was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was born Feb. 16, 1934, in Argyle, he was the son of the late Josephine (Lager) and Louis Cosma.
He is survived by his wife: Linda (Chandler) Cosma; a son: Scott Louis (Judith) Cosma of Festus; a brother: Harold (Pamela) Cosma of Affton; and two granddaughters: Taylor and Allison Cosma.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink. Burial will be at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
